Repurposed industrial Paris

Paris long fed, weighed, brewed and manufactured: this route finds the traces, now repurposed as places to live and visit. At Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, the Halle Freyssinet and the Grands Moulins de Paris have found new uses as a university and start-up campus. At Cour Saint-Émilion, the old Bercy wine warehouses have become a village of shops and restaurants. The route then heads north to Stalingrad and the Villette basin, then along the Ourcq canal, ending at Porte de Pantin in front of the Grande Halle, a former livestock market from 1867 turned performance venue. Eleven stations, brick and iron, and proof that industrial heritage can be joyful.
