The iconic fountains route

You walk past them without noticing, yet fountains tell the story of Paris. This fourteen-station route runs from Colonel Fabien, where you find the very first Wallace fountain (1872), to Vaneau and the Egyptian-style Fellah fountain. Along the way: the colourful automata of the Stravinsky fountain near Rambuteau, the Palm Fountain at Châtelet, the Virgin fountain behind Notre-Dame, the monumental Saint-Michel fountain and the Medici fountain, the oldest (1630). Take time to listen to the water: it is the soundtrack of a Paris we forget to look at.
