Green walks of the south-east

Nine stations, from viaduct to lake, for three walks born from places that changed use. From Gare de Lyon, the Coulée verte René-Dumont, inaugurated in 1993, follows the former Bastille railway line opened in 1859 and closed in 1969. At Bercy, the 14-hectare park opened in 1997 occupies the former wine depot: in the early twentieth century it was the largest wine market in the world. The route ends at Saint-Jacques, close to Parc Montsouris, designed by Alphand and finished in 1878, with its one-hectare lake, stream and cascade, all artificial.
