The finest libraries in Paris

Eleven stations for six libraries you can enter and read in. At Bourse, the BnF's Richelieu site, reopened in 2022, houses the Labrouste Room and the Oval Room, freely accessible. Near Pont Neuf, the Mazarine Library, founded by Cardinal Mazarin, is presented as the oldest public library in the country. At Pont Marie, the Forney library, installed since 1961 in the Hôtel de Sens, and the Bibliothèque historique de la Ville de Paris, at the Hôtel Lamoignon, are neighbours in the Marais. At Sully-Morland, the Arsenal library, made public in 1797, keeps its salons. The route ends at Cardinal Lemoine: Labrouste's Sainte-Geneviève library, open to the public since 1851.
