Along the Seine
The Seine is the thread running through Paris, and this route follows it from the Bir-Hakeim viaduct to Sully-Morland. It skirts the Invalides esplanade, reaches Concorde, then the Pont Neuf, the oldest bridge in the capital, completed in 1607. It crosses Châtelet and ends at Pont Marie, which leads to Île Saint-Louis and has carried its builder's name since 1635. Quays, bridges, reflections on the water: a walk best done on foot, and the metro gets you ready for it.
