Heart of the Latin Quarter
The Latin Quarter takes its name from the Latin once spoken by its students, and it remains the intellectual heart of the capital. From Saint-Michel, leave the fountain and its café terraces behind and plunge into the lanes around Odéon. Cluny-La Sorbonne puts you in front of the university founded in the 13th century and the Cluny museum, housed in a medieval mansion and known for The Lady and the Unicorn. Maubert-Mutualité and Cardinal Lemoine finish the walk on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève. Five stations, bookshops everywhere, and centuries of learning at every corner.
