Hidden Montmartre

Montmartre is a village that doesn't know it, and all it takes is stepping away from the Sacré-Cœur to find it. You start at Blanche, at the foot of the Moulin Rouge, and climb via Pigalle to Abbesses, where the "I love you" Wall says it in over three hundred languages. At Lamarck-Caulaincourt, discover the Clos-Montmartre vineyard, the Montmartre Museum and the stairways of rue Caulaincourt. Jules Joffrin closes the walk in the working-class 18th arrondissement, with its town hall and neighbourhood shops. Five stations, very few tourists, plenty of charm.
