One of the deepest stations on the network, dug beneath Boulevard Haussmann in the 1970s for the RER A's central section, a stone's throw from the Palais Garnier and the department stores.

Just outside the station, the Palais Garnier hides a real underground lake beneath its stage, which inspired 'The Phantom of the Opera' and once served as a water reserve for firefighters.
