Recorded in 1202 as Bussiacum-Lalheri, the name comes either from Latin buxetum, 'boxwood grove', or from a personal name (Buttius or Buccius); three hypotheses coexist. The village was given to the abbey of Saint-Denis in 1071.
Anecdote
