In 1793, the procurator of Barbeau abbey, who would later become parish priest of Chartrettes, took the remains of King Louis VII to safety in Chartrettes church.
Anecdote
Put back in their tomb in 1813, Louis VII's remains were moved to the basilica of Saint-Denis in 1817 on Louis XVIII's orders.
