Chemin d'Antony: history and sights
Served by: RER C.
Did you know?
Antony comes from Antoniacum, the 'estate of Antonius', cited in 829 in a charter of Louis the Pious for the abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The station name probably recalls the old road leading to the village.
Anecdote
In 1248 Abbot Thomas de Mauléon freed the serfs of Antony and Verrières, though they still owed rents, tithes and labour duties.
