Did you know?

Garancières derives from Germanic *Warenceras* (9th c.) and would mean a madder field. La Queue (Cauda, 'edge') is 'lès Yvelines', near the Yveline forest; a hamlet of Galluis, it became a commune in 1883.

Garancières' Église Saint-Pierre (12th c., enlarged in the 17th) has been listed since 1950 and houses a painting by Antonio de Pereda.
