Served by: Transilien J.

Did you know?

The name derives from the Gaulish name Garganus and Latin *villa*, 'rural estate': Gargen villam in 1164. The cement works (1921) and the Vexin refinery (1968) marked the town's recent history.

Anecdote

Les Maisonnettes, home of the sisters Lili and Nadia Boulanger, was bought by the town in 1998 and opened to the public after restoration.
