Did you know?
From Old French perré, 'paved causeway': in 1249, Neuville du chemin Perré. The village grew along the Paris–Chartres road and became Le Perray-en-Yvelines in 1948. Louis XIV had a pond dug here in 1685.
Anecdote
The Saint-Jacques cross, which marks the Way of Saint James and took its obelisk form under Louis XV, has been a listed historic monument since 1952.
