Named after Les Yvris, a district and leisure park in the south of Noisy-le-Grand; in 1060 the royal estate of Noisy passed to the monks of Saint-Martin-des-Champs, who remained its lords for more than 640 years.
Anecdote
In 1779, Viscount Alexandre de Beauharnais married Joséphine, the future empress of the French, at Noisy-le-Grand's Saint-Sulpice church.
