Nointel-Mours: history and sights

Served by: Transilien H.

Did you know?

Nointel appears as Nucistella (1153) and Noiatellum (1222); its name may, by an unconfirmed theory, evoke a crossroads. Mours was given to the abbey of Saint-Denis in the 8th century.

Anecdote

The Château de Nointel, built around 1680 for Jean de Turmenyes, keeper of the Royal Treasury, hosted the Prince de Conti in 1749, then the financier Bergeret, who welcomed Fragonard there. Listed in 1992.
