Parc des Expositions: history and sights
Served by: RER B.
Did you know?
The station is in Villepinte, whose name, Villa picta in Carolingian charters, probably means "painted village". From the 9th century its lands belonged to the abbey of Saint-Denis, which bought the lordship back in 1281.
Anecdote
Villepinte's "château rouge", formerly the Château Bignon, was built around 1640 in Louis XIII style; in 1881 the Sisters of Sainte-Marie-Auxiliatrice opened a sanatorium there.
