Did you know?
Oberkampf chose Jouy-en-Josas for his factory in 1760 because of the purity of the Bièvre's water, essential for washing fabrics; the station is named after Petit-Jouy and neighbouring Les Loges-en-Josas.
Anecdote
The first toile de Jouy was printed on 1 May 1760 in the Pont de Pierre house, which Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf had rented on 31 January that year.
