Pont de Neuilly: history and sights
Served by: metro line 1.
Did you know?
Neuilly comes from Portus de Lulliaco, later port de Nully (1346): in 1140 the monks of Saint-Denis set up a ferry across the Seine, around which a fishing village grew.
Anecdote
Around 1606 the carriage of Henri IV and Marie de Médicis fell from the ferry; the king had a wooden bridge built. Perronet's stone bridge opened on 22 September 1772 before Louis XV.
