The station lies in Meulan-en-Yvelines, whose name goes back to Gaulish Mediolanum. The Paradis district is a housing estate built in 1970; the Thun place name is older. Communal charter granted in 1168.
Anecdote
The old Île-Belle bridge at Meulan, known as the 'pont aux Perches', is said to date from 1150 and is a listed historic monument, though four arches are missing.
